Week five and the cross over to February.
I've come to realize that I need to be more open with my camera. I carry it every day but to be honest I'm not always open to using it. It seems contradictory and it is. Why carry it if I'm not open to taking photographs. My mind has shifted to be more open to my environment and take images of anything that catches my eye. Of course discrimination is important but the barriers to lifting the camera to my eye are lower as I progress through this project.
I do admit that I am way too concerned about what others around me may think as I use my camera. People may wonder why I'm taking a picture of a seemingly innocuous subject but I need to blank them from my mind and just focus on taking photographs. There were a few times this past week where I hesitated to take an image because of the people around me.
So, I'll take the shot if it seems interesting. I won't worry about the judgement of others. I'm sure that they couldn't care less.
