No matter where you are, have a camera with you. There are always limitless opportunities to take photographs when I'm open to them. I look at this project like a long brainstorming session. One of the main premises of brainstorming is not to be limited by what might not pass a self imposed test or limitation. A project 365 requires that I free myself from self editing before I press the shutter. Not to say i'm photographing everything I see, no I'm not doing that. But I am taking the opportunity to enjoy the freedom to take a photograph without wondering whether it will be one that will be truly memorable. Some of these images have turned out to be much better than I appreciated in the moment and for that reason I'm glad I took them.
So, a lesson learned is that if a subject resonates at all, in the least amount, go ahead and shoot it. Be free to let your intuition take over and sometimes be surprised by the results if not the longer term memory.
I want to thank you if you've been following along for these many weeks. Not too many more to go. But even after this project is over, one of the many lessons learned will be to learn to enjoy the freedom to photograph ignoring all the voices that deter you from the opportunity to press the shutter.
